Château d’Issan | Emmanuel Cruse
Château d’Issan dates back to the 12th century. Its wine were served at the wedding of Eleanor of Aquitaine and Henri Plantagenet in 1152. The Cruse family bought the property in 1945 and the vineyard and winery have been extensively restored since Emmanuel Cruse took charge in 1995.
The vineyard are planted with 65% Cabernet Sauvignon and 35% Merlot. The average age of the vines is approximately 30 years. Château d’Issan is one of the most beautiful estate in the Médoc, a fairy tale castle surrounded by a moat and gorgeous roses. It remains a family home.
